This position serves as a knowledgeable leader within the Sterile Processing department, bridging the gap between operational execution and departmental management. The role is designed for a professional who not only masters the technical intricacies of Sterile Processing Technician Levels I & II but also sets the standard for excellence in the department. You will be the go-to expert for all tasks associated with sterile processing, ensuring that reusable instruments and equipment are handled with the highest level of care and precision.
In this capacity, you will do more than just process instruments; you will maintain the integrity of the entire surgical supply chain. From receiving and decontaminating equipment to operating complex machinery like washers, reprocessors, and sterilizers, your work directly supports patient safety and surgical efficiency. You will also play a pivotal role in the department's continuity, potentially leading operations in the absence of the SPD Manager by organizing workflow and addressing critical customer needs.
Beyond the technical duties, this role is deeply collaborative. You will work closely with department staff, OR personnel, and managers to ensure smooth operations and accurate documentation. A key part of your day involves troubleshooting daily operational problems and supporting decision-making to resolve issues quickly. You will also contribute to the growth of the team by assisting with staff training, competency testing, and serving as a charge person to manage workflow and safety.
We are committed to supporting our team with a comprehensive benefits package that goes beyond base pay. This includes flexible schedules, affordable health, vision, and dental insurance, as well as generous time off. We also offer child care and student loan subsidies, a 403(b) Retirement Savings plan, and a Pension. Additional perks include tuition reimbursement, license and certification reimbursement, cell phone plan discounts, and discounted rates on T-passes.
Note: A $8,500 sign-on bonus is available for full-time hires. The schedule for this position is 7:00am-3:30pm.
At our organization, we experience the benefits of passion and teamwork every day. We value professionals who are dedicated to continuous learning and actively participate in hospital committees and professional organizations to stay current with medical instrument processing standards.
