INTEGRIS Health Southwest Medical Center, Oklahoma's largest not-for-profit health system, is seeking a Certified Instrument Technician to join our Sterile Surgery Supply team in Oklahoma City. As an Instrument Technician, you will ensure the proper decontamination, disassembly, cleaning, lubrication, packaging, wrapping, and sterilization of all instruments using steam, automated reprocessors, and low-temperature sterilizers. You will adhere to National Patient Safety Goals appropriate to the level of patient contact required by this position.
This position involves potential exposure to environmental hazards and contaminants, including blood and body fluids, chemicals from cleaning solvents, anesthesia gases, and electrical risks from sterilization units. Daily tasks require accurate prioritization in a physical environment that may include noisy work areas, physical exertion, disagreeable odors, and emergency situations requiring quick judgment. Protective clothing, including rubber gloves, masks, goggles, gowns, and aprons, is required.
