Team Lead

About the Role

As a Team Leader at Bass Pro Shops, you will serve as the daily anchor for your department, guiding associates to deliver the legendary customer experiences our brand is known for. Reporting to the Group Sales Manager or Department Manager, your mission is to ensure every shopper finds exactly what they need while maintaining the highest standards of merchandising, inventory control, and safety.

This role is about more than just supervision; it is about cultivating a team-oriented environment where associates are coached, motivated, and empowered to exceed customer expectations. You will be the product expert, conducting demonstrations and training staff to help customers make informed buying decisions. From managing "Top 25" merchandising directives to coordinating special events, you will play a pivotal role in driving departmental sales and gross margin goals.

The Day-to-Day

Your day begins with preparing task lists and reviewing departmental goals for sales, shrinkage, and payroll. You will direct associates in executing plan-o-grams, ensuring pricing integrity, and maintaining impeccable product displays. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to people management: assisting with hiring, coordinating training, creating work schedules, and resolving any customer or associate issues that arise.

You will also act as a bridge between the store leadership and the team, ensuring that company policies are followed while fostering a harassment-free, positive workplace. Whether you are calculating discounts, analyzing reports, or operating point-of-sale systems, your focus remains on creating a productive and welcoming atmosphere for both the team and our guests.

Hiring Process

Qualified candidates with a High School Diploma and 2 to 4 years of retail sales experience are encouraged to apply. While supervisory experience is a plus, a passion for retail and strong interpersonal skills are essential.
