As a Team Leader at Bass Pro Shops, you will serve as the daily anchor for your department, providing direction to associates while ensuring a legendary shopping experience for every customer. Under the supervision of the Group Sales Manager or Department Manager, you will bridge the gap between corporate strategy and store execution, driving sales, managing inventory, and fostering a productive team environment.
This role is designed for someone who thrives in a dynamic retail setting where product expertise meets customer service excellence. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards in merchandise presentation, pricing integrity, and stock levels, ensuring that the "Top 25" lists and plan-o-grams are executed flawlessly. Beyond operational duties, you will act as a coach and mentor, helping associates grow through training, performance feedback, and a shared commitment to positive customer relations.
Your day begins with reviewing task lists and preparing the department for the day's traffic. You will lead by example, executing merchandising directives and ensuring the store is ready for customers. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to people management: interviewing potential hires, coordinating training sessions, and resolving any associate or customer issues that arise. You will also serve as a product expert, conducting demos and guiding customers in making informed buying decisions, whether they are looking for outdoor gear or simply need assistance finding a specific item.
Throughout the shift, you will balance the needs of the business with the needs of your team, maintaining a harassment-free environment and ensuring that all supervisory responsibilities align with company policies and applicable laws. Whether you are analyzing sales reports, managing payroll goals, or simply engaging with a customer to understand their needs, your goal is to create a welcoming atmosphere that reflects the spirit of Bass Pro Shops.
Qualified candidates will be evaluated based on their retail experience, supervisory potential, and ability to connect with customers. The selection process includes interviews to assess interpersonal skills, product knowledge, and alignment with our company values. Successful candidates will be invited to join a team dedicated to outdoor recreation and exceptional service.
