As a Health and Physical Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the development of students into mature, able, and responsible individuals. Your mission is to help students acquire the subject matter and skills necessary for their personal growth, fostering a learning environment that respects their unique needs, interests, and abilities.
In this position, you will guide the learning process by establishing clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects, ensuring alignment with the district's philosophy of education. You will employ a variety of instructional techniques and media while maintaining a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to student maturity. Beyond the classroom, you will support the CORE Literacy initiative and WOW (Working on the Works), while also providing availability to students and parents for education-related purposes outside of instructional hours when required.
Candidates must possess a certificate, license, or other legal credential, along with a degree in their area of major study. The Board may also consider appropriate alternatives to these qualifications based on prior job experience. Selected candidates will report to a person designated by the Board or the superintendent and will supervise staff members as designated.
Performance evaluations for this role will be conducted in accordance with the Board's policy on the evaluation of personnel.
