As a Grade 5 Teacher, you will help students learn subject matter and skills that contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible individuals. Your mission is to guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals while fostering a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the students' maturity and interests.
In this role, you will plan programs of study that meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of your students. You will employ a variety of instructional techniques and media, striving to implement the district's philosophy of education and instructional goals. A key part of your day involves assessing student accomplishments, diagnosing learning abilities, and supporting the CORE Literacy initiative and WOW (Working on the Works).
You will also serve as a mentor and leader, encouraging students to maintain standards of classroom behavior and assisting the administration in implementing policies governing student life.
