Walnut Avenue Family & Women's Center is a Title 5 funded Early Education program dedicated to supporting families and children. Our mission is to provide high-quality care and education within a supportive, inclusive environment. As part of our Early Education program team, you will help foster the growth and development of young children while collaborating with a cooperative team of staff members.
As a Teacher, your primary role is to provide early care and education to children in an onsite setting. You will be responsible for planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum that covers language development, math, social-emotional learning, science, and creative expression. Your day will involve engaging with children using appropriate language and tools that adhere to the EEC philosophy, while also caring for their basic needs such as eating, sleeping, and hygiene.
You will create a stimulating classroom environment both indoors and outdoors, fostering an anti-bias atmosphere where children feel safe and respected. A significant part of your role involves building positive rapport with families, communicating daily about their child's progress, and assisting children in their daily adjustment to the center. You will also model clear communication with coworkers and supervisors to help develop a cooperative team dynamic.
