This position supports critical operations at Field Camps and McMurdo Station in Antarctica. You will be part of a dedicated team working in remote, harsh environments to ensure the logistical and operational continuity of scientific missions. The role requires a versatile professional who can adapt to dynamic conditions, from managing cargo and fuel operations to maintaining equipment and supporting camp staff.
Your day-to-day life will be a blend of technical support, physical labor, and community engagement. You will troubleshoot issues, coordinate resupply needs, and assist in decision-making processes alongside science teams. Depending on the season and location, your duties may range from operating heavy machinery like snow cats and pisten bullies to performing essential camp chores such as dishwashing, snow melting, and waste management. Bachelor's degree. Previous experience working in the Arctic or Antarctica with direct experience working in a field camp in polar environments. Experience in weather reporting, equipment operation (including meteorological, GPS and communication equipment), cargo movement, fuel operations, and/or logistics. Glacial travel and basic mountaineering experience. Previous training in weather observation.
