The System Engineer is a hands-on, operational role within the Customer Operations organization, dedicated to supporting the day-to-day reliability, availability, and performance of our automated warehouse systems in a live production environment. This position is aligned closely with a Maintenance Engineer or Lead Automation Technician profile, focusing on troubleshooting, maintaining, and stabilizing complex electro-mechanical and automated systems to ensure safe, consistent system uptime.
Unlike commissioning-focused or controls-programming-heavy roles, this position is centered on system health, equipment reliability, and technical execution on site. You will partner with onsite customers to drive best-in-class quality, safety, and system performance, acting as a senior technical escalation point during system disruptions. Your day will involve diagnosing failures across PLCs, VFDs, and motors, utilizing system data to identify recurring issues, and providing technical guidance to maintenance technicians and operators to restore and stabilize system performance.
Work is performed in an active industrial environment with high levels of automation. The role requires the ability to work at heights of up to 45 feet, within confined spaces, and exposure to varying temperatures and production conditions. Compliance with all PPE, LOTO, fall protection, and electrical safety requirements is mandatory. The position may require flexible hours, including off-shifts, to support system uptime and recovery.
