At MO-SSM Health DePaul Hospital in St. Louis, we believe that healthcare is more than a career—it is a calling. Our Surgery department is dedicated to providing exceptional patient care through a collaborative environment where every team member plays a vital role in the surgical journey.
As a Surgical Support Professional, you will serve as a critical partner to Registered Nurses and the surgical team. Your primary mission is to ensure the Operating Room is prepared and maintained for optimal patient care. You will set up the room with necessary items, gather supplies, x-rays, and instruments, and handle instruments during procedures with precision.

You will collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement a plan of care that incorporates physician preferences, nursing assessments, and diagnostic data. Your day involves demonstrating competence in a variety of surgical procedures, operating surgical equipment, and utilizing appropriate aseptic techniques. You will also be responsible for correctly handling and labeling laboratory specimens and documenting quality controls according to unit standards.
