The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) serves as a vital leader within the Surgical ICU, ensuring and delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with the management team, you will direct, monitor, and evaluate nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures. This role is designed to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.
You will act as a resource person for staff, modeling a commitment to the organization's vision, mission, and values. Your day will involve assisting with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput, participating in ongoing assessments of patient care quality, and collaborating with subject matter experts to create an environment of teamwork. You will support a patient-first philosophy, engage in service recovery when necessary, and operationalize nursing strategies such as employee rounding to improve engagement.
Additionally, you will play a key role in building the team by providing recommendations on interviewing, selecting, and training new staff. You will manage practical aspects of staff labor, including scheduling, while supporting proper inventory control and managing supplies and equipment.
