Mission
The Surgical Assistant plays a vital role in supporting Oral Surgeons by assisting with clinical procedures, including surgery and all pre- and post-operative care. The primary goal is to contribute to a "white gloves" treatment experience for every patient.
About the Role
You will work in a clinical setting alongside doctors during oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures, utilizing specialized surgical equipment. The role also involves office-based tasks using standard computer and telephone systems. Hours vary according to office needs but align with company operating hours.
In this position, you will prepare patients for consultations, manage tray setups, and ensure operatory cleanliness in strict compliance with state infection control guidelines. You will be responsible for recording patient charting, completing radiographs and CT scans, and assisting with sedation processes, including tracking drugs and vitals. Effective communication and organizational skills are essential as you instruct patients on care, maintain confidentiality, and collaborate with the front office and surgical teams.
