As a Surgery Registered Nurse, you will join a dynamic interdisciplinary team dedicated to patient safety and workflow efficiency. This role exists to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care within a culture of mutual respect and collaboration. You will be an integral part of the surgical process, evaluating patients prior to surgery, managing intravenous therapy and preoperative medications, and ensuring rigorous adherence to universal protocols during surgical site verification.
Your day will involve assessing patient conditions, monitoring shifts, and documenting care changes while responding to emergencies. You will also take on the responsibility of educating patients and families about procedures, medical conditions, and follow-up measures. To ensure your voice is heard, you will participate in rounding with unit leaders to provide feedback on patient care and surgical workflow improvements. The position offers self-preferential scheduling posted four weeks in advance for predictability, though on-call availability during select non-business hours is required.
