About the Role
The Support Nurse (LPN) at The Foley Center at Chestnut Ridge plays a vital role in ensuring the highest quality of patient care. Working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Director of Nursing, and the Charge Nurse, you will assist nursing personnel in delivering comprehensive care to residents in accordance with the Nursing Practice Act.
This role is dynamic and requires a genuine interest in geriatric nursing. You will be an integral part of the healthcare team, assisting with resident assessments, infection control, and the coordination of care for new admissions. From monitoring decubitus ulcers and managing lab requests to participating in emergency response and CPR, you will ensure that all care adheres to strict cleanliness and safety standards.
You will also take on leadership responsibilities by delegating duties to non-licensed personnel, monitoring their performance, and assisting with work schedules. The position involves close collaboration with physicians, rehab aides, and other departments to implement necessary care plans and address any changes in patient conditions promptly.
