About the Role

As a Support Nurse (LPN) at our Southwood location, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest quality of patient care. Working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will assist nursing personnel, including the Charge Nurse and Director of Nursing, on a specified unit. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve providing resident care in accordance with the Nursing Practice Act, delegating duties to non-licensed personnel, and monitoring their performance.

You will be an integral part of the healthcare team, assisting with new admissions, completing resident assessments, and coordinating with rehab aides. From managing infection control and quality assurance data collection to handling emergencies and notifying attending physicians of patient changes, your role requires a genuine interest in geriatric nursing and the ability to make critical decisions under pressure. You will also participate in department meetings and collaborate with other departments to implement necessary care plans for the unit.
