About the Role
The Financial Analyst position serves as a critical support pillar for Whole Foods Market, managing supplier payments through the Workday platform. Beyond standard transactional duties, this role is designed to drive efficiency through data analysis, project management, and proactive root cause resolution. You will navigate the intersection of finance and technology, utilizing approved AI applications to automate processes and analyzing Accounts Payable (AP) data to influence business decisions.
In this position, you will own the end-to-end resolution of complex payment issues, collaborating across Amazon and Whole Foods Market systems and teams. The role requires a partner who can confidently navigate change and uncertainty while driving special projects and maintaining rigorous fiscal period closing duties, including GL account reconciliation and 1099 filing support.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleManage settlement schedules in Workday and issue offcycle payments
- check_circleLeverage AI applications to automate processes and analyze AP data
- check_circleRelease wire payments and perform AP functions using multiple bank platforms
- check_circlePerform fiscal period closing duties including GL account reconciliation
- check_circleReview AP aging reports and open invoices
- check_circleAssist with the 1099 filing process
- check_circlePrepare and maintain standard operating documentation for all tasks
- check_circleConduct software testing for payments in lower test environments
- check_circleOwn and drive special projects related to data analysis and root cause resolution
- check_circleCollect data from multiple sources and analyze findings for business partners
- check_circleProactively troubleshoot complex payment issues from identification through resolution
- check_circleResearch, review, and correct payment issues using various software systems
Requirements
- verified2+ years of Accounts Payable (AP) experience
- verified1+ years of finance experience
- verifiedBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Engineering, Math, or Computer Science
- verifiedKnowledge of Excel, Access, Oracle, Essbase, SQL, and VBA
