About Business Oregon

Business Oregon is the state's economic development agency, dedicated to investing in Oregon's businesses, communities, and people. With a team of approximately 200 professionals, we work to help businesses grow, thereby adding jobs, diversifying the economy, and increasing prosperity across the state. Our mission is to promote a globally competitive, diverse, and inclusive economy through strategic investments in infrastructure, community safety, and business development.

We are committed to advancing socio-economic justice by applying an equity lens to our programs and decision-making. By embedding diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility into our culture, we strive to expand access, dismantle barriers, and ensure equitable economic opportunities for all Oregonians.

The Fiscal & Budget Services (FABS) division, where this role resides, supports the agency's $2 billion budget. FABS ensures compliance with legal and reporting requirements while providing essential accounting and budget services to all other divisions within the department.

About the Role

As a Budget Support Analyst (Fiscal Analyst 2), you will join a dynamic and evolving team within FABS to support critical agency operations and ensure effective budget management. This is a full-time, limited-duration position approved through June 30, 2027, with the possibility of extension based on funding and workload. You will play a key role in analyzing budget data, preparing financial reports, and assisting in the execution of the agency's fiscal strategy.

This is a hybrid position that offers flexibility, allowing you to work from home with the expectation of occasional in-office presence to support business operations. We foster a supportive work environment that promotes work-life balance and professional growth. If you are a current State of Oregon employee in regular status, you may also be eligible for a job rotation opportunity to this position.

Hiring Process & Application Instructions

To apply, please submit your application no later than 11:59 PM PDT/PST on Thursday, May 28, 2026. Current State of Oregon employees must apply through their Workday account via the Jobs Hub.

Required Steps:

  1. Submit Application: Complete the online application form.
  2. Attach Documents: Include a current resume and a cover letter. Your cover letter must be limited to two pages and clearly demonstrate how your experience relates to the "Requested Skills" section of this posting. Generic cover letters may receive lower scores.
  3. Complete Questionnaire: After submitting your application, respond to the public records request authorization and gender identity questionnaire in your Workday inbox.
  4. Save Progress: Be aware that Workday will timeout after 15 minutes of inactivity. Use the "save for later" function if you need to take a break.

Veterans Preference: Eligible veterans and Oregon National Guard servicemembers may be awarded candidate preference. Documentation must be uploaded after submitting the application; do not attach it to the initial application.

Contact: For questions, please contact the recruiter, Vitaly Putintsev, at vitaly.d.putintsev@biz.oregon.gov or (971) 719-3383. Please include the job requisition number in your correspondence.

Equal Opportunity & Culture

Business Oregon is an Equal Opportunity, Affirmative Action Employer. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background, race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, or veteran status. We are committed to providing reasonable accommodations for all applicants who may need them.

We value community and foster a sense of belonging for our employees. Our culture focuses on deepening employee engagement through strong teams, transparency, mentoring, and coaching, while investing in the well-being of our staff through training and professional development.

Additional Information

This is a classified, full-time, non-exempt position not represented by a union. Hiring is contingent upon the results of a criminal background check. Business Oregon does not offer visa sponsorship; all applicants must complete the Form I-9 within three days of hire. Per the Pay Equity Law, a pay equity analysis will be conducted to determine the appropriate pay step based on your documented experience, education, and training.
