As the Supervisor Safety for JetBlue in Fort Lauderdale (FLL), you will serve as the primary steward of our Safety Management System (SMS) and ground safety programs. This role exists to ensure that safety remains JetBlue's #1 value, driving a culture where every Crewmember feels empowered to identify risks and act proactively. You will coordinate the oversight of safety initiatives specific to our airports, bridging the gap between regulatory compliance and daily operational reality.
In this position, you will lead by example, promoting visible leadership that encourages Crewmember involvement in safety activities. Your day-to-day involves supervising ground safety monitoring programs like Ramp LOSA and BlueCity Self-Assessments, focusing on correcting at-risk behaviors while positively reinforcing safe practices. You will act as the central resource for health and safety topics, leading investigations into safety events to determine root causes and implementing strategic action plans. Additionally, you will facilitate cross-departmental meetings to resolve safety concerns and liaise with business partners and the Airport Authority to maintain a secure environment.
At JetBlue, we are defined by our core values: Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion, and Fun. As a Safety Ambassador, you are expected to embody these values, particularly our commitment to safety. You will foster an environment where Crewmembers are engaged in their own growth and safety objectives. We expect all team members to maintain a professional appearance, adhere to punctuality, and be flexible enough to respond to operational needs on short notice. Whether in the office or on the ramp, you will uphold JetBlue's safety performance metrics and ensure that all Crewmembers have the training and resources necessary to achieve safety goals.
We are committed to a fair and transparent hiring process. Please note that the use of ChatGPT or any other automated tool during the interview process will disqualify a candidate from consideration. We look for individuals who can communicate effectively, think creatively, and demonstrate a genuine passion for safety and leadership.
