The Success Coordinator serves as a vital link within the Advising & Success department at Hill College, dedicated to fostering student retention, completion, and holistic well-being. This role is designed to implement and coordinate academic advising, planning, and support services that empower students to navigate their educational journeys successfully.
Working collaboratively with faculty, staff, and community partners, the Success Coordinator guides students through targeted interventions, career exploration, and academic pathway planning. The position is instrumental in ensuring equitable access to services by applying knowledge of ADA requirements and student accommodations. By leveraging community resources and external partnerships, the coordinator supports a comprehensive approach to student success that extends beyond the classroom.
In this dynamic role, you will manage and maintain a variety of student support services, ranging from focus groups and one-on-one meetings to workshops and tutoring sessions. You will act as a strategic resource, researching career patterns and labor market trends to assist students in making informed educational decisions. The coordinator will administer career exploration platforms like Kuder Journey and College Central Network (CCN), while also interpreting student placement and risk assessments to recommend effective advising strategies.
Collaboration is at the heart of this position. You will work closely with developmental learning faculty to implement student success strategies and serve as a key resource for retaining and remediating at-risk student populations. Additionally, you will assist in training faculty and staff on advising and career placement, ensuring a unified approach to student support across the institution.
Candidates for this position must be prepared for a schedule that includes some evening and weekend work, as well as weekly travel to all Hill College locations. A valid Texas driver's license is required due to the travel component. The role is security-sensitive and may require serving on institutional committees as directed.
