The Academic Advisor I serves as a vital partner in the Student Affairs department, dedicated to guiding prospective, new, and continuing students through their academic journeys. This role exists to ensure students successfully navigate degree requirements, course selection, and academic planning while fostering a supportive environment that promotes enrollment and retention.
In this position, you will be the bridge between students and the university's resources. Your day will involve engaging in regular communication with students and faculty to support student success, helping individuals resolve academic issues, and interpreting complex university policies. You will utilize student information systems to track meetings and collaborate with campus staff to provide timely referrals to appropriate resources. Additionally, you will play an active role in shaping the student experience by assisting with new student orientation sessions and leading information sessions in Freshman Seminar classes.

Master's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience, including assistantships, internships, or related practical experience. Related experiences in a college or university setting.
