The Academic Support Center (ASC) at The Chicago School is seeking a Learning Specialist to serve as a vital component of the holistic academic support system for students in the Illinois College of Osteopathic Medicine (IllinoisCOM). This role extends support to pre-professional students in the Master of Science in Biomedical Science program and other students across The Chicago School.
The Learning Specialist will collaborate to ensure the delivery of effective, student-centered academic support services. You will provide supplemental academic skills instruction in classroom, online, and laboratory formats through one-on-one sessions, group sessions, peer mentorships, and seminars. The ideal candidate will bring experience supporting pre-professional or medical students, a deep knowledge of learning theories, and proficiency with educational technologies for adult learners.
Reporting to the Associate Director of Academic Support and Learning, you will work closely with Library Staff, faculty, administrators, and institutional stakeholders to foster the academic success and development of pre-professional and osteopathic medical students. This position is based in-person at The Chicago Campus with opportunities for remote work.

Doctoral degree in biological sciences, education, educational psychology, statistics, or a related field. Prior experience supporting student learning at a medical school or health sciences environment. Experience managing programs or leading academic support initiatives in higher education, including collaborative curriculum development and assessment. Prior experience advising pre-professional students. Prior experience managing/administering Qualtrics subscriptions. Strong knowledge of instructional design principles and techniques. Proficiency in utilizing educational technologies and data analysis tools to inform programmatic decisions.
