About the Role
The St. Charles School District is seeking a Substitute Custodian-General Maintenance to support our District-wide facilities. In this role, you will ensure that schools remain safe, clean, and functional environments for students and staff. As a substitute, you will step into various locations to maintain operations, providing flexibility and reliability where needed most.
Your day will involve a variety of tasks designed to preserve the integrity of school buildings. You will be responsible for cleaning classrooms, offices, libraries, restrooms, and common areas, including dusting, vacuuming, and washing windows. Beyond cleaning, you will perform minor maintenance and repairs, such as basic plumbing, electrical fixes, and painting. You will also manage building security by ensuring doors and windows are locked and lights are turned off as needed, while reporting any vandalism or safety hazards immediately to your supervisor.
