About the Role

Diamond Contract Services is seeking a versatile Maintenance and Custodial Associate to support our operations under minimal supervision. This role is essential for maintaining the safety, cleanliness, and functionality of our work sites. You will serve as the first line of defense for facility upkeep, handling a diverse range of tasks from minor repairs to custodial support.

In this position, you will perform a variety of maintenance duties including painting, light bulb and fixture replacement, minor plumbing repairs (such as toilet fixes), and furniture moving. You will also troubleshoot and repair minor HVAC, electrical, and plumbing issues, perform tile work, and handle graffiti removal. A key part of your day involves ensuring all custodial equipment is in proper working order and keeping mechanical and electrical riser rooms clean. Additionally, you will provide flexible support to cleaning staff whenever required.

Work Environment & Culture

You will work in an environment that is strictly free from discrimination, intimidation, coercion, or harassment. Your duties may take you indoors, outdoors, or both, and you may be exposed to dirt, dust, disinfectants, solvents, or cleaning chemicals. Noise levels will vary depending on the equipment used.

As part of the job, you will report to more than one work site within a given shift. You must adhere to all company and work site safety and environmental protection practices at all times. The role requires a commitment to maintaining a drug and alcohol-free workplace.

Physical Demands

This position requires significant physical activity. You will regularly bend, sit, stand, squat, stoop, walk, push, pull, and reach. You may occasionally need to kneel, climb, or lift up to 50 pounds. Throughout your shift, you must wear appropriate safety equipment, which may include gloves, goggles, aprons, and belts.

Requirements & Safety

To be successful, you must possess a high school diploma and a minimum of two years of related experience in handyman or maintenance duties. You must be able to read and understand safety rules, regulations, and chemical compounds. Fluency in English is required; Spanish is desired.

A safe driving record and proof of current auto insurance are mandatory, as the role involves driving during day and/or evening hours. All candidates must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test, with periodic retesting required during employment. You must also be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, to meet operational demands.
