Magnolia Grove is a community dedicated to providing a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained living environment for its residents. As a member of the United Church Homes family, our mission is to foster a sense of home and dignity for all who live here. The Maintenance position is central to this mission, ensuring that every area of the property and its surroundings remains in professional, good working order.
You will serve as the backbone of our property's daily operations, responsible for maintaining the physical integrity and aesthetic appeal of the community. This role goes beyond simple repairs; it involves a proactive approach to property care, from troubleshooting appliances and managing HVAC units to coordinating the reconditioning of vacant units for new residents. Your work ensures that residents feel safe and comfortable in their homes.
Your day will be a dynamic mix of scheduled maintenance and responsive problem-solving. You will coordinate with office staff to prepare units for new arrivals, perform detailed cleaning and refurbishment of common areas like lobbies, hallways, and laundry rooms, and manage landscaping tasks such as mowing, snow removal, and tree care. You will also handle a wide range of technical tasks, including minor plumbing and electrical repairs, appliance troubleshooting, and fire safety inspections.
As the on-call point of contact for emergencies, you will be the first responder to major building failures, ensuring the safety of residents and staff while coordinating with local authorities when necessary. You will also collaborate with the Housing Manager to uphold the annual maintenance budget and may assist in training new maintenance staff.
Interested candidates should submit their application through our standard hiring channels. We look for individuals who are not only skilled in general maintenance but also possess strong interpersonal abilities to work well with a variety of personalities.
We are an equal opportunity employer. All applicants will be considered for employment without attention to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran, or disability status. We are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace where every team member can thrive.
