We are seeking a Substance Use Counselor for our Next Step Apartments program, which supports adults living with chemical dependency in Oneida, NY. In this role, you will provide direct care and clinical services within a community residential setting. The position requires flexibility to cover both the Maxwell House and Next Step programs according to the staffing plan, including overnight shifts as needed.
Your day-to-day impact involves guiding clients through admissions, evaluations, and discharges while delivering individual and group counseling tailored to their specific needs. You will monitor client interactions and behaviors, serving as a positive role model for program participants. Beyond clinical duties, you will contribute to the upkeep and cleanliness of the residence and maintain accurate documentation, including nightly summary logs and incident reports, in strict accordance with agency standards.
