UDRI fulfills the University's commitments to education, research, and public service through the active involvement of students, faculty, and external partners.
We are seeking a Subject Matter Expert for Aircraft Battle Damage Repair (ABDRE) to serve as a Senior SME to the program leadership. This unique, hands-on position bridges the critical gap between high-level engineering theory and the practical reality of flight-line repairs. As a master-level expert in aircraft structural integrity and materials science, you will ensure engineering calculations and courses are executed correctly, efficiently, and safely while supporting the day-to-day activities of the ABDRE Chief and Site Leads.
Your research and development findings will directly impact operational feasibility, aircraft availability, and warfighter readiness. In addition to your technical leadership, you will instruct a specialized aeronautical engineering course to USAF Company Grade Officers. This is a role for a proven leader who has "been there and done that," combining deep technical mastery with the ability to translate complex engineering concepts into actionable training.
To apply, please submit a cover letter that specifically addresses each minimum qualification and any applicable preferred qualifications you possess.
