About the Role
As a Store Manager in Training, you will participate in a structured 8-week leadership development program designed to prepare you for future leadership within our organization. This role is not designated for a specific store; instead, you will rotate through a minimum of three store locations to gain a comprehensive understanding of our operations.
Upon completion of the program, your final placement will be determined by your performance and the business needs of the organization at that time. This position requires a willingness to travel during the training phase and to relocate for your final assignment as part of our growing team. You will assist the Store Manager in operating a store that stresses the importance of customer service, maintains associate morale, provides training, and maximizes sales and profits. Your day-to-day involvement will include interacting with customers and associates, ensuring store standards are met, and learning the intricacies of operations, scheduling, and personnel management.

Key Responsibilities

- check_circleAid in maintaining merchandising aspects including endcaps, displays, and cross merchandising
- check_circleProvide training for associates to maintain a knowledgeable team base
- check_circlePerform administration functions and open and close the store as needed
- check_circleLearn manager responsibilities including operations, scheduling, and personnel issues
- check_circlePerform operational tasks including driving forklift, load outs, and operating cash registers
- check_circleAid in supervising store personnel and notify manager of daily operational problems
- check_circleAssist in maintaining staffing needs, hiring procedures, and disciplinary actions
- check_circleResponsible for inventory verification and overseeing bank deposits when manager is unavailable
- check_circleConduct daily walking tours to ensure areas meet company standards and assign duties
Requirements
- verifiedBachelor's degree in business related field preferred
- verifiedMinimum 2 years of retail or managerial experience
- verifiedSatisfactory completion of National Retail Hardware Association test within three months of starting
- verifiedValid driver's license with clean driving record

- verifiedSufficient knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles
Nice to Have
Bachelor's degree in a business-related field. Some knowledge in construction, maintenance, electrical, repair, plumbing, forklift, and pallet jack operations.
