About the Role
As a Sterile Processing Technician, you bring your body, mind, heart, and spirit to your work. You know how to stay organized and move fast, responding calmly in high-pressure situations. Your day involves operating and monitoring sterilization equipment, decontaminating carts, and ensuring all instruments are properly sterilized, packaged, and tracked. You will communicate inventory status with Central Processing and Surgery teams, respond to emergency trauma situations, and provide on-the-job training to new associates. You will utilize technology to maintain accurate records in compliance with state and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleOperate and monitor sterilization equipment
- check_circleDisassemble carts and follow Universal Precautions for decontamination
- check_circleAssemble sterilized instruments and check for cleanliness and impairment
- check_circleTrack instruments using labeling processes and engraver
- check_circleCommunicate inventory status with Central Processing and Surgery staff
- check_circleSupply emergency and trauma cases to the Operating Room in a timely manner
- check_circleSterilize, disinfect, and package medical equipment and instruments
- check_circleUtilize technology to maintain records in compliance with regulations
- check_circleProvide on-the-job training to newly hired associates
Requirements
- verifiedHigh School Diploma or equivalent
- verifiedCertified Registered Central Supply Technician (CRCST) or Certified Sterile Processing Department Technician (CSPDT) or Certified Surgical Technician (CST) preferred
- verifiedPrevious experience in a hospital or clinic operating room preferred
Nice to Have
Certified Registered Central Supply Technician (CRCST), Certified Sterile Processing Department Technician (CSPDT), or Certified Surgical Technician (CST). Previous experience in a hospital or clinic operating room.
