Founded in 1876, The Boys' Club of New York (BCNY) is a youth development organization dedicated to empowering boys and young men, ages 7 to 21. Our mission is to provide effective programs and a supportive community that addresses the evolving social, emotional, health, creative, educational, and vocational needs of our members in meaningful, lasting ways. We strive to continually deepen and broaden our impact by cultivating positive qualities in the young men we serve.
As a STEAM Lab Instructor, you will be the guide and facilitator for a dynamic learning environment designed for small groups of upper elementary, middle school, and early high school students. This role is about more than just instruction; it is about sparking curiosity and fostering a love for learning through hands-on exploration. You will lead activities ranging from 3-D printing and circuits to basic electronics, coding, and art and design.
In this position, you will bring fresh curriculum and project ideas to the lab while also utilizing BCNY's established curricula. Your day will involve managing the lab space for 8 to 12 boys, engaging them in fun and relevant lessons tailored to specific classroom needs, and reinforcing positive behavior and clubhouse rules. You will work closely with the Education Director to update activities and curricula, ensuring the program remains fresh and responsive to member progress. This is an opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of young men by providing them with the tools and confidence to explore the world of STEAM.
Interested candidates are encouraged to apply directly. The selection process will focus on finding individuals who align with our mission and possess the necessary passion for youth development and STEAM education.
