About the Role

We are seeking a Staff Mechanical Engineer to lead design efforts within our Research, Development & Engineering – Power Conversion team. This role is central to our enterprise-wide business strategy, focusing on the design and development of new technology offerings for power conversion solutions.

In this position, you will act as a trusted teammate to R&D, internal, and external stakeholders. You will design and coordinate large-scale engineering projects, creating new designs and advising on the course of action for preexisting projects. Your goal is to ensure we deliver on time, add value beyond what is requested, and provide the easiest path to a solution in the industry. You will serve as a technical mentor to design engineers, test technicians, and fabrication personnel, while leading mechanical design reviews across multiple product lines.

Location and Work Model

This position is preferably based in Burnsville, MN; Houston, TX; Charlotte, NC; Merrimack, NH; or Pointe-Claire, Québec. The role requires in-person presence in the office, with travel up to 20% within the USA and Canada to support various sites and projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • check_circleDevelop detailed 3D CAD models and drawings for complex assemblies and enclosures
  • check_circleCollaborate with cross-functional teams to improve product designs and manufacturability
  • check_circleDesign and validate assembly and test fixtures to support prototype builds and production
  • check_circleManage BOMs and documentation for new and existing parts using database tools
  • check_circleDefine and document mechanical requirements and best practices for power conversion enclosures
  • check_circleProvide technical mentorship and guidance to design engineers and fabrication personnel

Requirements

  • verifiedBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
