About the Role
We are seeking a Staff Mechanical Engineer to lead design efforts within our Research, Development & Engineering – Power Conversion team. This role is central to our enterprise-wide business strategy, focusing on the design and development of new technology offerings for power conversion solutions.
In this position, you will act as a trusted teammate to R&D, internal, and external stakeholders. You will design and coordinate large-scale engineering projects, creating new designs and advising on the course of action for preexisting projects. Your goal is to ensure we deliver on time, add value beyond what is requested, and provide the easiest path to a solution in the industry. You will serve as a technical mentor to design engineers, test technicians, and fabrication personnel, while leading mechanical design reviews across multiple product lines.
Location and Work Model
This position is preferably based in Burnsville, MN; Houston, TX; Charlotte, NC; Merrimack, NH; or Pointe-Claire, Québec. The role requires in-person presence in the office, with travel up to 20% within the USA and Canada to support various sites and projects.

Requirements
- verifiedBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- verifiedMinimum seven (7) years of experience as a mechanical design engineer
- verifiedExperience with power electronic system design
- verifiedProficiency with SolidWorks or equivalent CAD systems
- verifiedWorking knowledge of ASME, NEMA, UL, IEC standards
- verifiedProficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Cloud services
- verifiedTravel up to 20% within the USA and Canada
- verifiedExperience with UL 1741, CSA C22.2
- verifiedStrong understanding of structural and thermal analysis (FEA/CFD tools)
Nice to Have
Experience in power electronics design/packaging. Professional Engineer (PE) license.
