The Staff Dentist serves as a vital clinical partner within a Patient Centered Health Home, dedicated to expanding access to high-quality dental care. This role exists to ensure that patients receive comprehensive, coordinated, and culturally competent services that address both immediate oral health needs and long-term wellness goals.
In this position, you will function as a primary provider, managing the full spectrum of dental care from diagnosis and treatment planning to patient education and specialist referrals. Your day-to-day involves conducting thorough examinations, reviewing medical histories, and utilizing clinical data to formulate precise diagnoses. Beyond clinical procedures, you will actively engage with patients and their families to explain treatment options, promote preventive care, and provide educational resources tailored to individual health literacy levels.
As a member of an integrated care team, you will collaborate closely with medical staff, ancillary health team members, and support staff to manage patient care holistically. This includes participating in daily huddles, assisting in the development of clinical protocols, and contributing to the planning of new departmental programs. You will also play a key role in community outreach, representing the organization at health fairs and screening events to connect with underserved populations.
Candidates must hold a valid, active professional license as a Dentist in the state of California. Successful applicants will be expected to demonstrate the ability to work across various FHCN locations based on business needs and to maintain regular attendance as an essential function of the role.
