FedEx Freight is seeking a skilled technician to ensure the timely, quality, and cost-effective repair and maintenance of our vehicle fleet. This role is critical to keeping our operations moving, covering a wide range of equipment including tractors, trailers, forklifts, and other specialized machinery.
In this position, you will perform advanced diagnostics to identify the source of trouble, followed by comprehensive repairs, component replacements, or rebuilds. Your day-to-day responsibilities include making necessary adjustments for safe and efficient operation, performing safety inspections, and handling paint and body work as required. You will also play a key role in mentoring less-experienced technicians and ensuring all maintenance activities are accurately documented both in writing and electronically.
This role involves working in a dynamic environment with exposure to heavy traffic areas, dust, diesel fumes, and noise. Technicians may be required to drive service vans to off-site locations and work in varying climate conditions. The job involves handling chemicals, oils, and greases, as well as operating precision measurement instruments, oxygen/acetylene equipment, and various lifting devices. The position requires the ability to frequently lift components weighing approximately 110 pounds and to safely enter and exit truck compartments.
