About the Role
This combined leadership position serves as the strategic owner for the Kittyhawk ERP instance and its associated bolt-on applications. The role is dedicated to ensuring high availability, optimal performance, and a compliant cyber posture across the assigned database platforms. By leveraging sophisticated automation, integrated monitoring, and metric analytics, the incumbent will drive low incident rates and operational excellence.
You will act as the bridge between technical execution and business strategy, aligning technology initiatives with enterprise architecture standards. The position requires a leader who can manage complex Oracle R12 environments, coordinate critical application support activities, and guide teams through technical upgrades and major solutions while maintaining stability.
Day in the Life
Your day will involve defining the strategic vision for the database and platform landscape, overseeing the planning and delivery of Oracle and ERP initiatives, and leading the team through performance tuning and security control implementations. You will partner with vendors, senior leaders, and the Whittle DBA leader to synchronize solutions and manage hardware and software selections.
A significant portion of the role focuses on application support leadership. You will lead P1 incident resolution, coordinate patching activities, and manage change management and production releases, often requiring flexibility during working and weekend hours to support US-based operations. You will also monitor escalation processes, track team KPIs for incident management, and ensure compliance with activities such as separation of duties, CMMC, and SOX.
Beyond technical oversight, you will engage IT leadership and business stakeholders to provide transparency on initiatives, risks, and service improvements. The role demands strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively, coach less experienced team members, and manage contractor teams to drive continuous professional growth.
