The Senior Plant Process Control Systems (PCS) Engineer serves as a pivotal force in planning, executing, and monitoring activities to support Process Control Systems across the Berkeley site. This role is designed to drive reliable, compliant, and efficient PCS performance that enables safe and robust manufacturing operations. You will work closely with internal partners and external vendors, setting high levels of technical performance for others to emulate while building a strong network of stakeholders to continuously improve site automation strategies.
In this position, you will act as a technical system owner, managing user access, ensuring data integrity, and leading the development of standard control functions and validation protocols. Your day-to-day involves collaborating with Operations, Plant Engineering, and Manufacturing Sciences to execute PCS projects, respond to complex troubleshooting needs, and provide essential training on DCS, SCADA, and PLC-based systems. You will be instrumental in bridging the gap between technical automation and operational goals, ensuring seamless integration and compliance within a regulated environment.

BS with 6+ years, MS with 0-4+ years, or PhD with 0-2 years of relevant experience in industrial automation or process control; Minimum 6 years of experience in industrial automation, including implementation, troubleshooting, and system support; Experience implementing and maintaining PCS systems specifically in a cGMP biopharmaceutical or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment; Proven capability for interdisciplinary work and coordination with diverse technical and operational teams.
Skills: Industrial Automation, Process Control Systems, Rees, PLC, CGM, Change Control, Project Management, Troubleshooting, Commissioning, Validation Testing.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or related field required; PhD preferred with 0-2 years experience.
