The Senior Perioperative Nursing Assistant (PNA) serves as a vital member of the surgical services team, applying proficient knowledge to support a diverse, age-specific patient population under the supervision of a licensed nurse. This role goes beyond standard assistance; it is designed for a professional who embodies Houston Methodist's Relationship-Centered care values.
In this position, you will independently perform the physical preparation of patients and the surgical environment prior to procedures. You will also serve as a preceptor and clinical resource, mentoring and orienting new PNAs while troubleshooting complex problems and prioritizing multiple requests for assistance. As a senior team member, you will foster a positive work environment, facilitate open communication among the interprofessional care team, and drive improvements in departmental scores for patient satisfaction, retention, and engagement.
