This leadership position directs the personnel and activities of the ComEd Transmission & Substations: Relay and Protection Engineering, Project Engineering, and Design departments. The role exists to optimize engineering and design activities, ensuring strict adherence to internal practices, standards, and business requirements while driving the company's safety, reliability, and performance goals.
You will lead a diverse organization of approximately 45 employees, managing a service territory of over 11,000 square miles that includes 3.6 million customers. Your day involves balancing strategic planning with day-to-day operations, making high-impact decisions on key business activities, and fostering a high-performance culture. You will sponsor capital investment projects, ensure continuous improvement in compliance posture, and direct the organization's response to emergent activities, catastrophic events, and storms. This role operates autonomously with wide latitude for un-reviewed actions and decisions, directly impacting the transmission revenue stream, generation revenue stream, and public opinion of the company.
