About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Environmental Planner to support the New York State Office of General Services (OGS) from our Albany, NY location. This role is pivotal in navigating the complex landscape of environmental compliance for diverse public projects. You will serve as the primary representative for design and construction teams when interacting with federal and state regulatory agencies, ensuring that projects advance efficiently while adhering to strict environmental standards.

In this position, you will manage the full spectrum of environmental permitting, ranging from SEQR short forms to complex Joint Applications requiring multiple agency approvals. Your day-to-day involves coordinating environmental impact assessments, managing consultant deliverables for state projects, and facilitating communication between the design team, consultants, and agencies such as the US Fish and Wildlife Service and the NYS Department of State. You will play a key role in expediting environmental studies and analyses, ensuring that all procedural requirements for Environmental Impact Statements (EISs) and Environmental Assessments (EAs) are met to support project timelines.
