About the Role
As a Sr. Distinguished Machine Learning Engineer at Capital One, you will provide technical leadership to engineering teams dedicated to productionizing machine learning applications and systems at scale. You will serve as a technical domain expert, guiding architectural design decisions and ensuring the high availability and performance of our machine learning applications. This role is designed for those who wish to continuously learn and apply the latest innovations while mentoring other engineers to keep Capital One at the cutting edge of technology.
In this position, you will drive the creation and evolution of ML models that enable state-of-the-art intelligent systems, solving challenging business problems in the financial services industry. You will work in close collaboration with Product, Architecture, Engineering, and Data Science teams to lead large-scale ML initiatives with the customer in mind. Your day-to-day will involve leveraging cloud-based architectures to deliver optimized models and evangelizing best practices across all aspects of the engineering and modeling lifecycles.

Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to a variety of audiences. ML industry impact through conference presentations, papers, blog posts, or open source contributions. Ability to attract and develop high-performing software engineers with an inspiring leadership style.
