About the Role

As a Data Engineer, you will be the face of the CHEETAS Team, enabling the development of data-driven decision analysis products. Your work will have a profound impact on the country's most critical role by applying novel methods from data science, machine learning, and operations research to provide robust testing and evaluation capabilities. You will serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring they have the analytical tools, data products, and reports needed to make insightful recommendations based on DoD Test and Evaluation (T&E) data.

In this onsite role based in Camarillo, California, you will operate as a self-motivated individual capable of working independently with little supervision. While you may be the only team member physically on-site, you will not be alone; you will have robust support from distributed data science, software engineering, and system administration teams. Your day-to-day involves running and operating CHEETAS tools, demonstrating capabilities to VIPs, adapting internal tools to emerging needs, and conducting impromptu hands-on training sessions for end users. You will also gather requirements and troubleshoot problems within closed networks, often traveling up to 25% (with potential surge to 50%) to support end users at various DoD ranges and labs across the US, including Alaska and Hawaii.
