The District Attorney's Office in Douglas County is seeking a Senior Deputy District Attorney to join the County Court team within the 23rd Judicial District. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the office's operations during a period of expansion, including the opening of a new courtroom. The role offers flexibility to be filled as either a part-time or full-time position, depending on the candidate's experience and the office's immediate needs.
As a Senior Deputy, you will perform advanced legal, docket management, and supervisory functions. You will be responsible for the intake and prosecution of felony offenses, reviewing and preparing criminal cases for trial, and providing critical legal advice to law enforcement agencies. This position operates at a high level of autonomy, assuming responsibilities on behalf of the Chief Deputy District Attorney and participating in policy-level decisions regarding office functions. You may lead designated teams and serve as a primary resource for complex legal matters, including grand jury presentations and policy development.
