The Office of Attorney General's Medicaid Fraud Control Unit (MFCU) is an interdisciplinary team dedicated to protecting vulnerable individuals and safeguarding Medicaid's finite resources. The unit utilizes a team-based approach to uncover abuse, neglect, and complex financial fraud committed by healthcare providers, including hospitals, nursing homes, pharmacies, physicians, dentists, and nurses.
As an Investigator, you will be a key member of a collaborative unit working closely with other investigators and attorneys to hold offenders accountable through criminal prosecution and civil litigation. Your work will involve multi-agency coordination, detailed document analysis, and the preparation of evidence for court proceedings.
You will be responsible for reviewing and evaluating allegations of fraud or abuse/neglect of Medicaid recipients. The role requires conducting interviews, collecting and analyzing evidence, obtaining and reviewing Medicaid claims, and preparing detailed investigative reports and exhibits. A significant portion of the position involves testifying in court, including before grand juries and at trials, as well as interfacing with other law enforcement and government agencies.
