Hume's Outdoor Education and Spiritual Emphasis programs run in the fall and spring, aiming to serve Christian schools by providing a spiritually rich and joyful environment for the student body to learn more about Jesus. Additionally, Hume's Outdoor Education program strives to provide quality adventure classes for middle school children to learn more about the natural sciences and gain a deeper appreciation for God's creation.
This position serves as a bridge between faith and adventure, offering a life-changing camp experience for 5th–12th grade Christian school students at our Hume Lake property. As an Outdoor Education Instructor, you will facilitate the needs of counselors and campers while promoting the Gospel through engaging recreation and free-time activities. The role involves leading live productions and skits, managing disciplinary issues with Biblical principles, and stewarding waterfront facilities.
A core component of the position is teaching a 90-minute outdoor education science lesson to 5th–8th grade students, requiring you to debrief activities with appropriate spiritual application. You will be expected to safely guide participants through various activities and engage both large and small groups effectively.
This is an invite-only position. Please do not apply unless you have been invited by a member of our team.
