As a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), you will serve as a vital member of our healthcare team, dedicated to evaluating and treating patients with communication and swallowing disorders. Your mission is to restore function and improve quality of life through personalized care plans, while fostering strong partnerships with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary health team members.
In this role, you will not only deliver direct clinical services but also act as a clinical preceptor for Clinical Fellows and students, shaping the next generation of speech therapists. You will lead in-services and training programs to elevate the facility's overall care standards, ensuring that all staff are equipped to support patient recovery and maintenance programs.
Your work begins with a commitment to timely care, conducting patient evaluations within 24 hours of a physician referral. You will develop effective treatment plans, secure necessary approvals, and supervise Speech-Language Pathologist Assistants in direct patient care. A significant portion of your day involves collaborating with the broader team during Patient Care Conferences and Utilization Review meetings to track progress and adjust strategies.
Beyond clinical treatment, you will play a key role in discharge planning and caregiver training, instructing families and nursing staff on maintenance programs to ensure continuity of care. You will maintain meticulous documentation in compliance with state practice acts and payer requirements, utilizing systems like Casamba and Point Click Care to manage patient data efficiently.
