The Speech-Language Therapist (SLT) at St. Stephens Indian School plays a vital role in supporting the communication development of our students. This position exists to identify and address speech, language, and communication deficits, ensuring every student has the tools they need to succeed academically and socially.
In this role, you will conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate articulation, fluency, voice, and language disorders. Your day will involve providing direct, individualized therapy to students while continuously adjusting interventions to meet their evolving needs. You will serve as a key collaborator with special education and classroom teachers, offering guidance on therapy strategies and carryover techniques that can be integrated into both classroom and home environments.
Effective communication is central to your work. You will maintain strong partnerships with parents, teachers, and outside professionals to coordinate services and support student progress. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining detailed and accurate documentation, including evaluations, progress notes, contact logs, and treatment plans, all while adhering to IEP and IDEA guidelines.
