About the Role

Transform lives through the power of communication as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the Sioux Falls School District. Join a dedicated team committed to empowering students through individualized speech therapy, innovative interventions, and meaningful communication strategies. In this role, you’ll work closely with students, families, and educators to break down communication barriers, build essential skills, and create opportunities for success.

You will provide speech and language therapy services on a district-wide basis, participating in the identification, assessment, and IEP development for eligible students. Your work involves preparing plans that correlate with specific instructional goals, often integrating assistive technology or augmentative communication systems to support student needs. You will evaluate and modify resources to support individual student progress while maintaining accurate records in compliance with district, state, and federal requirements.

A key part of your day involves fostering a climate of courtesy, respect, and inclusion. You will communicate effectively with parents and colleagues, participate in professional learning communities, and collaborate with teams to facilitate communication across settings. This position offers the chance to make a lasting impact by helping students assume responsibility and develop independence in their communication abilities.
