At Minds Matter LLC, we are dedicated to empowering individuals with acquired brain injuries to reclaim their independence and achieve their life goals. This position serves as a vital therapeutic partner, evaluating, planning, and delivering specialized speech and language interventions tailored to the unique needs of our consumers.
The Speech-Language Pathologist will work directly within the home and community settings to help individuals identify their specific needs and develop compensation techniques for the consequences of their brain injury. This role is not just about clinical intervention; it is about integrating employment, educational, and independent living goals into daily therapy. You will collaborate closely with consumers, families, case managers, and transitional living specialists to ensure a holistic approach to recovery.
Your work will be dynamic, moving between direct therapy sessions, home visits, and community-based activities. You will administer evaluations, analyze medical data, and design adaptive equipment to support consumer progress. A significant portion of your time will be spent educating families on communication strategies and the realities of brain injury, while also training personal care assistants to maintain therapeutic gains outside of formal sessions.
You will maintain a professional rapport with a wide network of stakeholders, including referral agents and community agencies. The role requires active participation in departmental goals, attending planning meetings, and contributing to interagency task groups. Timely and legible documentation is essential, as you will provide quarterly summaries to case managers and ensure all services align with individual plans of care.
Candidates must be currently eligible for the Clinical Fellowship Year and have successfully completed a Speech-Language Pathology Program from an accredited university. Experience working with people with disabilities is highly valued. We look for individuals who demonstrate a high degree of sensitivity, excellent problem-solving skills, and a genuine desire to help others.
Minds Matter LLC is committed to providing effective, evidence-based services grounded in our philosophical principles. We value creativity, adaptability, and the ability to accept constructive criticism to improve service delivery. We actively promote public relations throughout the agency and community, fostering an environment where every team member is willing to serve on task groups and contribute to the agency's success.
