This position serves as a dedicated educator within the Dallas Independent School District, focusing on the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEP) for assigned students. The role is integral to the Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee process, ensuring that every student receives a tailored educational program that addresses their unique learning styles, physical, social, and emotional needs.
You will work cooperatively with classroom teachers to modify regular curricula and assist special education students in regular classes. The position requires creating a classroom environment conducive to learning while managing student behavior and administering discipline, including intervening in crises as necessary according to IEP guidelines. Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is essential, as this is a campus-based position with no remote work options.
The work environment typically features a moderate noise level. Travel throughout the district is an integral part of the job. As a campus-based employee, performing all duties at the worksite is a fundamental requirement of the position.
