As a Special Education Teacher at Dallas ISD, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational journey of students with diverse needs. This position is designed to foster an inclusive environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. You will serve as a key collaborator within the Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee, working closely with students, parents, and staff to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEP) that meet specific learning goals.
Your day-to-day impact involves designing and delivering instructional, therapeutic, and skill development programs tailored to individual student needs. You will partner with classroom teachers to modify regular curricula, ensuring special education students receive the necessary support within general education settings. Beyond the classroom, you will be an active voice in the community, representing the district's commitment to special education through open houses and PTA meetings.
This is a campus-based position requiring regular and punctual attendance at the worksite. The role involves moderate noise levels typical of a school setting and requires travel throughout the Dallas ISD district. As a campus-based employee, remote work or alternate work arrangements are not available, as on-site presence is essential to performing all duties effectively and ensuring student safety.
