About the Role

The Paraprofessional position at Dallas ISD serves as a vital support system within the classroom, working directly alongside teachers to ensure every student receives the personalized attention they need. This role is essential for maintaining a safe, orderly, and inclusive learning environment where students with diverse needs can thrive.

You will be the eyes and ears of the teacher, assisting with instructional materials, managing classroom displays, and helping to maintain the physical environment of the classroom. A significant portion of your day involves direct student interaction, ranging from assisting with curriculum delivery to providing critical support for students with physical disabilities, including transfers and personal care. You will also play a key role in behavior management, intervening in crisis situations when necessary to ensure the safety of all students.

Beyond the classroom, you will act as a liaison between the school and the student's specific needs, keeping teachers informed of individual challenges while maintaining strict confidentiality. The role requires flexibility and adaptability, as you will supervise students across various settings including the lunchroom, bus, and playground, and travel throughout the district as integral to the job.

Work Environment

This is a campus-based position requiring regular and punctual attendance at the worksite; remote work is not an option. The work environment typically features a moderate noise level, reflecting the dynamic nature of a school setting.
