Specialist, Information System Security Officer

About the Role

At L3Harris Technologies, you will play a critical role in safeguarding national security information and ensuring the integrity of our technology systems. This position is designed to support the Air Force and our test teams by maintaining robust security controls, managing system certifications, and responding to security incidents in real-time.

You will be the frontline defense for our information systems, responsible for the development and execution of controls that protect against unauthorized use, infiltration, or destruction of sensitive data. Your work ensures that our systems remain compliant with rigorous government directives throughout their lifecycle. This role is vital for maintaining our Authorization to Operate (ATO) and supporting the continuous monitoring of our security posture.

The day-to-day involves a blend of proactive risk management and reactive incident response. You will analyze anomalies, coordinate with the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) regarding any changes to hardware or software, and execute first-level responses to detected threats. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to building and maintaining aircraft disk pack sets, administering security controls, and preparing detailed documentation for Assessment & Authorization (A&A) processes.

This role requires flexibility and dedication. You will frequently support night and weekend shifts to augment SCIF manning during planned site power or network outages. Additionally, the position involves travel to offsite test events approximately 25% of the time to ensure security coverage where needed.
